The trailer for Netflix's The Land of Steady Habits is only a little over two-and-a-half-minutes long, but it will still manage to break your heart. Based on Ted Thompson's novel of the same name, the upcoming family drama focuses on Anders Hill (Ben Mendelsohn), who, looking to renew his sense of freedom and adventure, decides to retire from his job in finance and leave his wife (played by Edie Falco). The story follows Anders as the reality of his decisions causes him to self-destruct and make reckless choices, such as befriending a drug-addicted teen (Ozark's Charlie Tahan).
Estranged from his 27-year-old son (Thomas Mann) and missing his ex-wife, Anders begins to question his identity as a father, partner, and person. The sense of despair emanating from the trailer will have you hungry to see how it all ends. Check it out above before The Land of Steady Habits hits the streaming network on Sept. 14, and make sure you see what other original films Netflix has to offer.
