If you've embarked on the wild ride that is Netflix's Mötley Crüe biopic, The Dirt, you may have paused to stare a little closer at the actor playing Tommy Lee. The notorious drummer is depicted on screen by none other than 28-year-old rapper Colson Baker, or as he's known professionally, Machine Gun Kelly. The two are similarly tall musicians with plenty of tattoos, but Kelly's transformation into Lee was still far from easy. On March 26, he shared a behind-the-scenes look at the intense process on Twitter, and it included a lot of body makeup.

"This process was everyday for 4 months straight filming The Dirt, and even longer when we had to add Tommy's tattoos," Kelly captioned his video. Kelly's own ink actually includes a Tommy Lee tattoo on his wrist, which he got at age 18. He auditioned for the role six times, before finally landing the drummer's role, and worked closely with Lee throughout filming.

Watch the full clip above to see the lengths Kelly went to in order to nail Lee's look. That's some serious commitment.
