‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ trailer: How to stream it live Friday

The wait is over: The first full trailer for “Star War: Episode IX” arrives Friday via a first-look screening at the 2019 Star Wars Celebration, a sprawling fan event taking place through April 15 in Chicago.

A special panel discussion — streaming live from noon to 1 p.m. ET — will reveal the official title and new imagery for the first time.

“The fun starts on Friday [when] director JJ Abrams and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy take the stage along with surprise guests to talk about the final film in the Skywalker saga,” says Anthony Carboni, co-host of Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars Show.”

Aside from cast and major credits, almost nothing has been leaked about the ninth installment, so fan anticipation is running hot. Late last month, an allegedly fake “Episode IX” poster went viral, spurring Luke Skywalker himself Mark Hamill to debunk it as a piece of the art from a “passionate fan.”

Late last month, an allegedly fake “Episode IX” poster leaked, which Luke Skywalker himself Mark Hamill claimed to be a sham — probably a piece of the art from a “passionate fan.”

One thing is always sure when it comes to Star Wars reveals: they raise more questions than answers. We’ll have to wait a while for those: “Star Wars: Episode IX” is set to come out nationwide December 20.

Walt Disney Co. Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger tells Bloomberg Television after “Episode IX” there won’t be any more Star Wars films anytime soon.

“The Skywalker saga comes to an end with this ninth movie,” Iger says. “There will be other Stars Wars movies — but there will be a bit of a hiatus.”

Instead, Disney will focus on their related TV projects, such as the live-action series “The Mandalorian,” which premieres in 2019 on Disney+ streaming service, and an unnamed series featuring Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk reprising their Star Wars roles.
