Judge Judy debuts new hairdo at 2019 Daytime Emmys

New hair, don’t care, says Judge Judy.

After 22 years, TV’s most beloved civil court judge has decided to makeover her signature teased out bouffant into something a little more sleek and modern.

TV’s $45 million woman debuted her new look — a combed-back low-ponytail — live at the 2019 Daytime Emmy Awards in Pasadena, Calif. this past Sunday, where she received a Lifetime Achievement Award

While some fans lauded the lauded the change, even comparing the style to iconic Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, others close to her were not as impressed.

“Alright, alright! I tried to stay out of this, y’all won’t let me! I prefer my boss with the old ‘do’. More sophisticated and ‘Judy’cial. Just my opinion, not law!,” says Sheindlin’s longtime bailiff and friend Petri Hawkins Byrd in an Instagram post.

Sheindlin’s TV court show has enjoyed 23 seasons on air, since September 16, 1996. Her award was presented by Amy Poehler.

Her sleek new ‘do paired well with the black, flare-leg tuxedo look with a shimmery A-line top beneath her tailored suit jacket.

“We all watch because we know that maybe just once something will turn out fair, that two people will come together and work it out in front of a woman who takes them and her job very seriously,” admitted Judge Judy fan Poehler tells the audience. “She is the Jewish mother that we all want.”

While accepting the award, 76-year-old Sheindlin says, “I have a profession that’s always been my passion. And tonight, I have this lovely honor which says I’ve done my job well.”

“Life has a beginning, a middle and an end. As most of us, I don’t remember the very beginning, I’m having an absolute blast in the middle, and if my luck holds, I won’t be around for the end.”
