Those of you familiar with our comment section know the name. Some call him The Shiny One. Others, The Great Shiny One. But all know him as Joshua, the beacon of light and positivity who fills our comments section with funny takes and inspirational words of encouragement. In a world often fixated on negativity and pessimism, Joshua is unflinchingly kind — even when the world has taken its shots at him. His perseverance and belief in seeing the good in nearly any situation is infectious, and as that light spreads, it keeps our website running with the upbeat, communal spirit it was built upon.
But darkness spreads, too. And theCHIVE community was forced to the edge of its seat when Joshua’s cancer came back.
