It only takes one listen to "I Can't Get Enough" for it to get stuck in your head, but it's totally worth it. The sultry single, released on Feb. 28, is the musical brainchild of Selena Gomez, J Balvin, and record producers Benny Blanco and Tainy. It's also the second song the 26-year-old singer has been featured on since she left rehab back in November 2018 after completing treatment for her "ongoing emotional issues."
It's safe to say that "I Can't Get Enough" is a very different vibe from Gomez's work with Julia Michaels on "Anxiety." While that song was about anxiety's effect on one's emotional well-being, "I Can't Get Enough" is a little less personal and a lot sexier. The track is a steamy urban-electronic bop in which Gomez and J Balvin croon about lovers who just want more of one another and want to do nothing more than turn up the heat. "I like that, you like that, so let's be crazy / the contact, impact, I want that daily," Gomez sings on a beat that somehow perfectly manages to convey sensuality.
J Balvin sings entirely in Spanish, but even if you don't speak the language, you know what he's saying. The whole song invokes memories of late-night house parties in overcrowded basements where the lack of air conditioner makes everyone sticky from being pressed together. But with a jam like "I Can't Get Enough" playing, no one cares! If it weren't the height of Winter, I would already name this the Summer bop of 2019.
