‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 premiere: How to stream HBO and what time

The final “Game of Thrones” countdown has officially begun.

Season 8 — aka the last six episodes of the series — are set to launch with a 9 p.m. air time Sunday, April 14, on HBO.

How to get going: If you already subscribe to HBO as part of a cable package, you can stream new episodes on HBO Go for free on handheld devices, TVs and PlayStation gaming consoles.

Download the app: The HBO Now app offers a $15 standalone HBO deal  — no cable or satellite TV subscription is required to stream new episodes live. Don’t like watching on tiny phone or tablet screens? You can launch eps in a browser at HBONow.com. The HBO Now app is available via Amazon Fire TV, Roku and Apple TV.

Other streaming options: Amazon Prime Video, Hulu and PlayStation Vue subscribers can add HBO for an extra 15 bucks a month.

Join the conversation: Diehard fan theories are predictably running rampant as the premiere approaches — but if you are one of the lonely few that’s still missing out on this pop culture juggernaut, it’s not to late to get up to speed with The Post’s “Idiot’s guide to ‘Game of Thrones’ final season.”

For those hosting viewing parties, now might be the time to nab some of the new “GoT”-stamped Oreos before they sell out.

Which episodes are movies: As we reported earlier, rumors that the entire eighth and final season will be comprised of movie-length episodes aren’t true. The first (April 14) and second (April 21) episodes of Season 8 clock in at 54 minutes and 58 minutes, respectively, which is pretty standard.

The final four episodes, however, will be feature-length.

Episode 3 on April 28 will be the longest of the series, at 1 hour and 22 minutes. Since the only information the network has released about this season is that there will be a giant battle at Winterfell, between the living and the dead, it’s a safe bet this is the episode.

Episode 4 on May 5 will be 1 hour and 18 minutes, and the final two episodes of the entire series will each be 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Would it have made more sense to just have a regular 10-episode season consisting of 40- to 60-minute episodes, instead of a six-episode season with movies? We’ll have to wait and see.

So, with the exception of a normal beginning, the long night is indeed approaching — emphasis on.
