Aerosmith adds 17 dates to Las Vegas residency

Britney Spears may have milked Vegas for all she can — but Aerosmith is still seeing dollar signs on the Strip.

The 1970s rock ’n’ roll band has added 17 dates to its Las Vegas residency at the Park MGM, picking up some of the slack created by Spears when she canceled 32 dates of her residency at the same Vegas venue last month.

“Sin City we are coming back for round two!” the classic rock band tweeted Tuesday in announcing the extension to its April 6 concert series.

The added shows will keep the aging rock icons in Vegas for an additional four months — through Dec. 4.

It’s a boon for MGM Resorts International and concert promoters Live Nation, which said Tuesday that “a very limited number of tickets and VIP packages are available” for Aerosmith’s previously scheduled shows.

Spears abruptly canceled her MGM show “Domination” in January, citing health problems of her father, Jamie Spears.

But as The Post reported last year, Spears’ “Domination” was met with lukewarm demand after tickets went on sale last October.

A week after the Feb. 13 concert series was announced on Oct. 26, it remained half unsold, sources told The Post.

By comparison, Aerosmith’s April 6 residency at the same Park Theater was 85 percent sold out a week after it was announced in August, sources said.

Lady Gaga’s show, announced Aug. 13, was completely sold out at the same 5,200-seat venue the first week tickets went on sale, The Post reported.

Spears scheduled “Domination” even though her original Vegas tour — “Piece of Me” at Planet Hollywood’s Axis Theater — stopped selling out after the first two years, an insider said.

The “Oops…” singer announced an “indefinite work hiatus” in January.
