Having a pet is the greatest feeling in the world. They love you unconditionally, they offer support and companionship and they’re heckin’ fun to be around, especially if they’re dogs. Not everyone, however, gets to be blessed with a dog or cat, if their parents aren’t into it.
Take, for example, Keysey Johnstone, a cheerleader from Texas and avid dog lover. She desperately wanted a dog, and found the best way to get her mom to sign off on it.
This is just about the most genius thing you’re gonna see today.

This is some clever marketing on the part of Dallas Animal Services. The deal was that for a $5 adoption fee, you could pick out a dog that was 12 inches or more. So technically, Kelsey was getting a $5 footlong. It just had four feet, tons of fur and a heart of gold.

That’s a match made in doggie heaven.
On a serious note though, there are a lot of dogs and other animals that have been surrendered to shelters, that are just killing time, waiting for their future family. If you’re in the market for a pet, please check out your local shelter to see if you can bring one of them into your home and show them the love they deserve.
