Homeless man hands out resumes instead of asking for money 1 Friday morning, 26-year-old web developer David Casarez woke from his park bench in Mountain View, California and decided he needed a change. So, he put on his best clothes, printed out resumes at FedEx, and stood on a corner giving out his resume to anyone who would take it. Twitter user Jasmine Scofield asked if she could post his story, and by Saturday afternoon Casarez was flooded with over 200 job offers from companies like Bitcoin, Netflix, and Google. 2 Her post was retweeted over 120,000 times, and will surely result in Casarez accepting a job. He told The Post, “It’s been happening very quickly, and I’m in shock. I wasn’t expecting that kind of response”. “Google reached out to me,” he said. “So many other companies. Pandora. A bunch of startups. But tonight, I’ll be back on my bench in Rengstorff Park.” 3 Many people looked closer at Casarez’s resume and wondered how someone with his experience could be homeless. He explained that he cashed out his 401-K and drove to Silicon Valley to pursue the dream of owning his own tech startup someday, but no one was hiring, “I had an interview with Apple in January, but the job was filled internally,” he said. Then in June he ran out of cash, and has been homeless ever since. Thanks to his sign and the power of the internet though, it looks like Casarez will have his pick of jobs, and perhaps his dream of owning a start up will one day come true too. 4GIF Via: New York Post & LadBible Source link
