How Australian is this?
This is Kerry and her dog Asha. They live in Strathdownie, Australia, and have recently had the most hilariously Australian “if we didn’t have photos you wouldn’t have believed it” scenario happen to them.

“It was quite early in the morning, and my husband yelled out to me to come have a look at something,” Said Kerry about the incident.
What was it that she came out and saw?

A baby koala bear latched onto Asha.
Yup.
“I didn’t know what he was talking about at first but then I saw this tiny koala snuggled on top of Asha”

She looked a bit guilty when I came out to see what was going on. Her expression was hilarious. She kept looking back at the koala but she wasn’t trying to get him off her or anything. She was happy to let him snuggle into her.”

They don’t know how the koala wound up with Asha, but they have a feeling that he fell out of his mother’s pouch and wandered onto their property before running into Asha.
“He would have died out there if left alone all night. The poor thing could have been taken by a fox or something, too.”

They took the Koala to the vet, but it wasn’t easy.
“I think dogs have that protective instinct. The koala didn’t want to leave Asha’s back. When we took the koala off to wrap it in a blanket, it hissed at me and carried on.”
Right now the koala is under professional care until it is ready to be released into the wild once more.
