Cynthia Nixon talks Trump, Cuomo during ‘Late Night’ appearance

Gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon, in a late-night TV appearance days before the New York primary, joked that America would be better off with President Trump as an Emmy winner and repeated her attacks on the “corruption” of Gov. Cuomo’s administration.

Nixon, who is challenging the incumbent for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination, appeared on NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and he showed the actress a picture of her winning an Emmy in 2004.

She accepted that award from Trump who in the picture seemed to have a firm hold of the trophy.

“Because, you know, he was nominated so many times and he never had one of his own,” Nixon yucked in the interview that aired early Thursday morning. “And in retrospect, I think that maybe if I had just let him have mine, we wouldn’t be in the situation that we’re in.”

As the studio audience laughed, she added: “But hindsight is always 20/20.”

She renewed her campaign-stump critique of the Cuomo administration’s ongoing ethics challenges.

“We have a governor whose administration has been rife with corruption and if anything the last four years his administration has outdone itself,” Nixon said.
