Is there anything more adorable than a sleeping cat? All peaceful, purring and with it’s little knife-fingers gently tucked away. It’s a beautiful sight. Personally, I’m more of a dog guy, but I can kinda see the appeal. They’re definitely adorable, and deserving of love, especially shelter cats.
I couldn’t imagine what it would be like to work in a shelter, seeing all of those beautiful little faces, and knowing the I couldn’t take them all home and give them a happily ever after. Luckily for them, however, there are volunteers and staff that go out of their way to make their time in captivity that much sweeter.
Guys like Terry, in Green Bay Wisconsin.

Earlier this week, the Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary Inc. shared a post and some photos on their Facebook, of their favourite volunteer Terry. He’s actually a living saint, there’s no way around that.
According to the post, 6 months ago he dropped in and asked if he could brush the cats. Now, he’s befriended them all and most importantly, he naps with them.
If that’s not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen in your life, you’re dead inside.

As with most people his age, sometimes when you’re presented with a comfy couch and a purring cat, you can’t help but succumb to the sandman.

I don’t think the cats mind.

I’m gonna make this one my phone wallpaper, because you can’t help but smile and get all warm and tingly in the inside.

Such a modest dude, with a sweet heart. Obviously, people fell in love with him and his generosity.

What makes the post, and Terry’s involvement, even sweeter is that the sanctuary is a nonprofit organization that rescues disabled cats from places where they’d be at risk for euthanasia. At most, they have 20-30 cats at one time, in a cage-free environment.
So not only do they get to recover from their trauma without bars and walls, but they get to interact with one another and the volunteers/staff in a home-like environment. That’s beautiful.

I’d hit that follow button.

Looks like Terry’s been here.

Of course he’d be a retired teacher.

After gaining over 40,000 likes on facebook and over 1 Million views on Reddit, he’s inspired the shelter to publish an Amazon Wishlist of things they could use, as well as tons of new donations for the kitties.

We need more people like this in our lives.
Thank you Terry for being a drowsy cat lover.
