11 Scenes From the New Avengers: Endgame Trailer That Are More Important Than You Think

Marvel Studios refuses to lift its foot off our necks, but I for one am not mad about it at all. A new trailer for the highly anticipated Avengers: Endgame dropped on Thursday morning, and it is chock-full of so many hints and teases that we don't know which way is up!

Not only do we see that Tony and Nebula make it off their space-stranded ship to meet up with the Avengers, but we also get a glimpse of Carol Danvers! Yes, Captain Marvel herself appears in the brand-new trailer, picking up where the Captain Marvel midcredits scene left off.

Of course, we can't let this trailer go without trying to make sense of it all — we still have no real idea of what is going to happen in Endgame, but every little detail adds to our ever-growing pot of theories. Keep reading as we dive into this latest trailer and what exactly we think may be going down in the MCU.

Clint-Training-MCU-Kate-Bishop.png

For a split second, we see Clint Barton teaching a young woman to fire a bow. If you immediately wondered if this is meant to be Kate Bishop, same! In the comics, Kate is the first woman to take on the Hawkeye name and the third person overall. She joins the Young Avengers and is given the code name Hawkeye by Captain America. Why would Steve be the one to hand down the name? Because Clint Barton is dead.

However, as these things happen, he's brought back to life sometime after Kate has been using the name for a bit. When he sees how well she does under the code name, and wanting to keep his return on the down-low for a bit, Clint assumes the code name Ronin. You see where this is going, don't you? Clint eventually goes back to using the name Hawkeye, but Kate doesn't want to give it up either, so now there are two Hawkeyes in the Marvel comics.

While Clint and Kate have no relation in the comics — he doesn't even train her, actually — the MCU could totally make it a family affair. Clint's daughter is named Lila in the films, but she could have Kate as a middle name (or just use her own name, it's not that serious) and be the one to adopt his code name. Considering they've been dropping hints about bringing the Young Avengers to the MCU, the ending of Phase Three would be a perfect time to introduce the newest Hawkeye! Yes, she looks a little young in the clip, but we don't know how old she'll be when the movie ends . . .

From what it looks like in the trailer, Clint has gone rogue after losing his family in the dusting. But since we don't think he'd go so rogue as to start killing innocent people, we have to wonder exactly who is he throwing bows at before Natasha steps in.

Natasha-Growing-Out-Her-Blond-Hair-Which-More-Important-Than-You-Think.png

A very important note here is that Natasha's hair goes from an ice-blond bob to her signature red waves. In this scene, it's obvious that her hair has grown out of the color, since we see her ends are still pretty light (guessing her usual stylist was dusted along with everyone else). Since we doubt Black Widow decided to switch wigs to do battle, it seems enough time has passed for her hair to grow. Considering how long that would actually take, we'd have to say that at least six months pass between the beginning of the film (where she's blond) and this moment.

How-Does-Scott-Lang-Reunite-Avengers-Postsnap.png

There have been a lot of theories about how Scott manages to escape the Quantum Realm and come out to aid the Avengers. From what we see of the trailer, it looks like he isn't stuck there for very long and escapes just in time to learn that half the population is gone. Though time is a little wonky in the Realm, so he could have been in there for 30 years and just pops out in time to help out.

Say hello to Mo-Hawk-Eye.

Who-Nebula-Fighting.png

We're not 100 percent sure of where she is, but there's no doubt that whoever Nebula is fighting, they're getting all her fury. Because of how angry she is, we have to guess she's going head to head with her father, Thanos, again. That didn't end so well last time, but she seems pretty determined to take down whoever it is.

Natasha-Remains-Hell-Shot.png

As Natasha shows off how excellent of a shot she is, we can't help but go back to her locks. Here, her hair has grown longer than the bob from Avengers: Infinity War, but it's still pretty blond. So whatever event pushes her to decimating this poor target at the range happens before the Avengers decide to suit up.

Tony-Speaks-Pepper.png

All of Tony's narration in the past trailers have been a message from him to Pepper Potts. This time, while detailing how far he's come since he "fought my way out of that cave," he tells her that although he said no more surprises, "I was really hoping to pull off one last one." Sounds depressingly ominous, doesn't it?

There are two worlds of thought here: this message is part of the one that Tony records for Pepper before he manages to get off the spaceship with Nebula OR it's one that he says at a later point, when things get a lot more dangerous and he wants to send a final message before the end. Since bets are pretty high that Tony won't make it out of Endgame alive, we're pretty worried it's the latter.

Quantum-Uniforms.png

First off, these suits look super snazzy! They also look incredibly similar to another suit we've seen before: Scott Lang's Ant-Man suit! While we don't think the Avengers are trying to co-op Scott's gig, we do have some ideas on where this is going.

Specifically-re-going-Quantum-Realm.png

Specifically, they're going to the Quantum Realm. As I said, this suit looks remarkably like Scott's Ant-Man uniform, but it's also an upgraded version. Undoubtedly, the suits are courtesy of Tony — because as he says, he just "makes everyone look cooler." If we had to guess, the suits give everyone Ant-Man's ability to "shrink to roughly the size of an ant," with a bit of that Stark nano tech to give them all kinds of special awesomeness.

One-biggest-theories-out-Quantum-Realm.png

One of the biggest theories out there is that the Quantum Realm is the key to defeating Thanos and saving the universe. Seeing the remaining Avengers suited up to go into it is a great indicator that we'll be seeing some sort of time travel happen in the film itself.

Two-things-note-though-First-Captain-Marvel-noticeably.png

Two things to note, though: First, Captain Marvel is noticeably absent in this scene. Where did she go? Does she not stay very long? Considering the Natasha hair indicator, this is a few months after she arrives, so either she left them or she's busy doing other things.

Second, it's highly unlikely this will actually be a scene in the movie. Marvel tends to include scenes that either don't make the cut or don't fit in with the final project. The first trailer showed this exact montage, only without Tony and Nebula, and the Avengers were wearing their usual costumes. So what is the truth, Marvel? Do both scenes exist? Or do neither?

Rocket-Teams-Up-War-Machine.png

This is just such an awesome duo, and we should pay attention to them. But it is worth noting that while Rocket is dressed in his snazzy new uniform, Rhodey is wearing something much bulkier than his old armor — not the quantum suit.

Carol-HERE-Folks.png

The captain has arrived! Her first postcredits scene shows her arriving (very stealthily, I might add) into the Avengers compound, and now we finally see Captain Marvel in a trailer!

Just-like-Thor-we-also-like-one.png

Just like Thor, we also like this one. This scene probably takes place early in the film as it shows Carol meeting up with everyone in the compound and (this is important, I swear) Natasha is back to her blond bob. It's plausible that we don't get more scenes with Carol because Captain Marvel was just released and anything more would spoil things for people who haven't seen it. Since we all believe Carol also plays a huge role in the eventual saving of the universe, more scenes would probably spoil that, too! Either way, it's so good to finally see Carol with the crew.

Watch the full trailer to see if you can spot more important details!
